Normally the head of household should have the reference 1 on the Medicare card and the partner/ dependants 2,3,4 etc. When the patient is first added to eClaims the Medicare number and reference is entered. If the reference number entered is incorrect we can modify this through a Patient Relocation.

The Patient# number is displayed in the Patient Details Screen in the top left corner.

Imagine the son is under 18 and lives with the father and listed in eClaims as Patient# 2840.0 whereas the father is 2840.2. This is an error and the father should be re-assigned to 2840.0 and the son 2840.2

Go to the main menu.

Click on Maintenance and select Patient Relocation

By default the screen will open on the Re-Assign Responsible tab.

Current Responsible Party the patient that is currently listed as the head of household but is really a dependant.

New Responsible Party the patient who is in reality the head of household who should be listed as 2840.0.

Click Current Responsible Party and the Enter Patient Number or Last Name screen will appear.

Enter the name of the patient that should be listed as a dependant here.

The Patient Lookup screen will display the related patients

This screen shows the problem. Nga Ziggy is currently listed as the head of household with a Pat No of 2840.0 and was born in 2009. Rodney Ziggy was born in 1932 but has the Pat No 2840.2 and listed as a dependant of Nga Ziggy.

Highlight the record that needs to be listed as a dependant. Usually the Pat No will be XXXX.0.

Click OK to continue or Quit to return to the previous screen.

Now select the patient who should be listed as the head of household.

Click OK to continue or Cancel to discard all changes and return to the previous screen.

Usually the D of B field is a good indicator of which should be the head of household and who is the dependant.

In this example Nga Ziggy will be changed to be a dependant of Rodney Ziggy. Rodney Ziggy will be listed as head of household.

If its correct click OK to make the changes or Cancel to stop the process.

Select Yes to continue or No to cancel.

Now if you look at the patient details in the Patient screen you will see that Rodney Ziggy is now Patient#2840.0 and Nga Ziggy is Patient #2840.2
