Error Incorrect Item Code in Batch Handler
This error can occur when assigning a batch in the batch handler.
Incorrect Item Code screen will appear displaying the name of the patient/s affected.
The error can occur when an item reserved for a VR doctor is billed by a non-VR doctor.
To verify this check the patient invoice and look at the MBS item number. Check if the MBS item number is reserved solely for a VR doctor.
Open the Doctor Data screen
Click Maintenance and Business Data
Enter the system password
The doctor must be set as a VR (Vocationally Registered) Doctor. VR doctors can bill certain items that Non VR doctors cant and the remuneration is also higher for VR doctors. If you aren’t sure please confirm with the doctor if they are vocationally registered. If the doctor is non VR they can bill for the same service but must use a different item number.
Click on the drop down arrow at the bottom right side of the screen and select VR doctor.
The batch should assign correctly now and be sent through comm centre as normal.
